“Watch Over My Child” is book three in the “Michal’s Destiny” series.
After her parents are arrested by the Nazi’s, twelve-year-old Gilde Margolis is sent away from her home, her sister, and everyone she knows and loves. Alone and afraid, Gilde boards a train through the Kinder-transport bound for Britain where she will stay with strangers, in London. Over the next seven years as Gilde is coming of age, the Nazi’s will grow in power and London will be thrust into a brutal war against Hitler. Severe rationing will be imposed upon the British, while air raids will instill terror, and bombs will all but destroy the city. Against all odds, and with no knowledge of what has happened to her family in Germany, Gilde will still keep a tiny flicker of hope buried deep in her heart, that someday she will be reunited with her loved ones.

Roberta Kagan is a five star writer. Once again, this book captured me and made me want to continue reading. The characters are well developed and the story is fascinating. The reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because there were so many editing/proofreading errors. Too often I would have to reread a sentence for clarity because the punctuation was not clear. Also, instead of simply using the plural of a noun, it was put into the possessive form with an apostrophe. Maybe this wouldn't bother most people, but it bothered me. Otherwise, I would have given this 5 stars.Product details

Watch Over My Child Book Three in the Michal Destiny Series eBook Roberta Kagan Reviews
I cannot say enough about this series, Michael's Destiny by Roberta Kagan. I have read everything she has written and I have never been disappointed. I look forward to the last book in this series.
"Watch Over My Child Book Three in the Michal's Destiny Series" by Roberta Kagan was a very good novel but there is so much repetition explaining what has happened in the past, it becomes tedious. I was tempted NOT to read that part, but didn't want to take a chance of missing something new. This series could be condensed into one novel that would be fabulous. Ms. Kagan is an excellent writer.
The historical part of the book was informational...some I've read in other books before...the part that disappointed me was it was filled with sexual encounters...and weakness ...
I felt like the story line was not cohesive and not developed in some areas of the story.
I gave this book 3 stars because of the historical content otherwise there would of been just one star.
I like her style of writing. This is a particularly interesting time period for me and I don't know why. Her books keep me interesting and excited about reading more and more of the stories. I read while on a treadmill so have to be captivated and my interest held while I plug along getting my steps in. Her books always keep me wanting to read and return the next day to continue.
Roberta Kagan captivates her readers. The end you won't see coming will have you holding your breath waiting for the final book. Alike all her books this one cannot be left out, the series is amazing you won't be disappointed. And if you love this series her all my love detrick series should be on your list.
This novel deals with different experiences while living in a new country. One must deal with learning a language and customs. Loneliness compounds everything and mistakes are made. Once again the author vividly describes fascinating plots and characters in a WW2 background. Errors in grammar and skipped words are a distraction. The ending is so enticing that I can't wait for continuation of the series. Writing is worthy of 10 plus stars but I hope for better editing as that was way below standard.
Watch Over My Child Michal’s Destiny Book 3 is by Roberta Kagan. This third book looks at the difficulties the children who left Europe on the KindertransportI had when they came from Germany to England. Most of them had no real idea of what was going on and did not know English. Worry about their siblings and parents was constantly on their minds. Some were welcomed into warm, happy homes while others were looked at as servants.
Gilde Margolis was sent to England by her sister Alina and their family friend Lotti Glassman. They knew they had to do something to get her to safety after Michal and Traavi went missing. Lotti and Alina worked at the Jewish Orphanage and were able to get Gilde on the list with the orphans. At ten, Gilde did not want to go but knew she had no choice. Luckily for Gilde, she was taken in by a family with a daughter a little older than she was. Jane didn’t resent Gilde’s presence in her home but took Gilde under her wing and helped her acclimate to England. They became best friends and sisters until a boy came between them. Jane thought Gilde had stolen him from her and it caused a rife that widened as Jane went off to nursing school. Shortly after Jane left, the bombing of London took place and her family was killed. Gilde was now left homeless and no one wanted to take her in because of the already short rations. Gilde found herself at the home of the Lawrence family. This is just the beginning of the struggles Gilde has in the seven years she is alone in England. She loses communication with Alina and Lotti and has worry about them and her parents constantly on her mind. Will she ever be reunited with them?
This book gives a look into the lives of the children sent to England. However, this is one of the more successful placement of a child. We see Elias and Shaul, orphans sent with Gilde, in very different circumstances. Other children had much different stories. As far as I can tell from other reading, this is fairly consistent with the treatment some children received.
